Welcome to Tartlet!("we", "us", "the Service")

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Tartlet. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound to these terms. If you do not agree, please refrain from using the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Tartlet. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

2. Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use of your account. We are not liable for any loss arising from your failure to keep your credentials secure.

3. Acceptable use

By using Tartlet, you agree that you will not post, upload or share content that:

1. Is sexually explicit, pornographic, or otherwise NSFW (18+) in nature. This includes explicit text, images, embedded media, or links to such content.
2. Depicts, promotes, or facilitates the sexual exploitation or abuse of minors in any form.
3. Is illegal under applicable law, including copyright or trademark infringement, or distribution of malware.
4. Harasses, threatens, doxxes or incites violence against any individual or group.
5. Contains malicious code, scripts, or content designed to compromise the security of other users or the Service (e.g. phishing pages, credential stealers).
6. Impersonates another person or entity in a misleading or deceptive manner.

You also agree that you will not:

• Buy, sell, trade, auction, or otherwise transfer Tartlet usernames, slugs for real-world currency, virtual currency, gift cards, or other items of value.
• Attempt to circumvent technical or policy limitations of the Service, including rate limits, slug creation limits, or other restrictions.
• Reserve usernames or slugs without genuine intended use ("name squatting" or "slug hoarding")
• Use the Service to facilitate scams, fraud, phishing, or deceptive activities.
• Impersonate any user, moderator, or member of the Tartlet staff.
• Attempt to evade enforcement actions, including creating new accounts to bypass suspensions or bans.

We reserve the right to remove any content and suspend or terminate any account that violates these Terms, at our sole discretion and without prior notice.

3.1. Hate Speech & Community Safety

We strive to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all users. Content that promotes or encourages hatred, discrimination, or violence against protected groups or individuals is prohibited. We may remove such content and/or suspend the accounts that hold such content.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of any content you create and post on Tartlet ("pastes"). By posting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display and distribute that content as necessary to operate the Service

You are solely responsible for the content you post. We do not actively monitor all content, but may review, remove or restrict access to content that violates these Terms or that we are required to act on by law.

4.1 Content Availability

We do not guarantee that any content will remain available indefinitely. We may remove, modify, archive, or disable access to content at any time for operational, legal, or moderation reasons.

4.2 Intellectual Property

You must respect the intellectual property rights of others. Do not copy, reproduce, redistribute, or present another user's content as your own without permission where doing so infringes applicable law. We may remove content that is subject to valid copyright complaints or otherwise violates intellectual property rights.

If you believe your intellectual property rights have been infringed, you may contact us using the contact information provided in Section 11.

5. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time.

Violations of these Terms may result in warnings, content removal, temporary suspension, permanent account termination, IP bans, or other moderation actions at our discretion.

5.1 Off-Platform Conduct

Serious misconduct occurring outside of Tartlet may also result in moderation action if we reasonably believe it poses a risk to the safety, security, or integrity of the Service or its community. This may include harassment of users or staff, credible threats, scams, doxxing, malware distribution, or similar harmful conduct.

We respect your privacy. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for more details.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any content will be preserved indefinitely. Tartlet is operated on a hobbyist basis and may experience downtime, data loss, or discontinuation without notice.

8. Custom URLs and Reserved Names

URL hoarding, name squatting, or the reservation of identifiers without legitimate use may result in the removal or reassignment of such identifiers.

We reserve the right to reclaim inactive, abusive, or reserved identifiers where necessary for the operation of the Service.

8.1. Moderation

These Terms are not intended to provide an exhaustive list of prohibited conduct. We reserve the right to remove content or take moderation action against any behavior that we reasonably believe is harmful to users, the Service, or the community, even if it is not explicitly listed in these Terms.

8.2. Enforcement

Enforcement actions may include warnings, content removal, slug reassignment, temporary restrictions, account suspension, permanent account termination, IP bans, or any other measures we consider appropriate depending on the severity of the violation. We are not required to apply penalties progressively or issue prior warnings.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be noted with an updated "Last updated" date above.
